Yesterday. So the end of a chapter as Jack sets off back to village to sell the family cow! A strange old day, waving HH & CJ off back the Yuke. Its always emotional doing the departures, and arrivals, at a Greek port, perhaps because its so much more beautiful than an airport? Good ol' CJ has done us proud, and as HH was checking him over before the trip he found he's used barely any oil or water which is , I am told, a very good thing. And he will hopefully go to someone new, who will get a great deal of pleasure from him, and have some adventures of their own. And we will hopefully have the funds then to get a small sensible-ish (my heart is set on an old Suzuki Vitara or similar) car so we can strike out to the rugged North beaches and explore all the small villages which were not CJ-appropriate. Sending them both away with much love and a big 'καλό ταξίδι'

Its just the little things.....there is an ad campaign at the moment, for the Armani fragrance 'Si'.....lots of famous ladies in it, headed up by Cate Blanchette...in which they say .."say Si, Si to Freedom, Si to life' and then they say and .............and Si to yourself. Which I am afraid I find utterly hilarious. Lost in translation maybe but see to yourself means something QUITE different in my world. Too funny. In other news.. My Recovery ward is all ready, as you can see, in my Feline Family Planning campaign...Mrs Fluffy seems to be happy enough, and we caught and took 'Sam' to see Uncle Vet this week. He is the first cat to benefit just from my fund raising attempts so thanks again to everyone. He is much a freindky kind cat we felt pretty awful doing this to him! Trusting soul that he is. Well, was. He was a bit ginger on his paws for 24 hours, but is now back to normal...minus 2 walnuts from round the back! However, its all getting awee bit mor...

Afternoon All, What shall we ruminate on today? Nothing much going on here and dangerously, that leaves far too much room in my head for random thoughtidge! Before we start the ramblings, we have been doing a bit more walking this week that of late, photos attached. Yesterday, a gorgeous blue sky March Monday we got around to going up to the 4 th highest bit of the island, a hunk of rock called Exombourgo where the ruins of the ancient acropolis of Tinos is. Views amazing, loads of wild flowers, vast amount of huffing and puffing on the way up. Summit reached I then remembered, rather oddly as I used to love my skiing so much, that I am not all that great with heights. So the trip back down was actually worse than the one up...terrible quivering jelly legs, heart racing, taking the tiniest baby steps. Not helped by HH doing his impersonation of a mountain goat and skittering about, hither & yon...and slipping, yes, a...

The good: how lucky we are to live on this wonderful beautiful island. Today we walked down to Σμαρδάκιτο from Tarabados (excuse spellings!) taking in the gorgeous views, and then had a lovely lunch before walking (more slowly!!) back up again. But......the Bad: when we left home, the rubbish by the bins!! All over the road. The temptation is just to go 'tut tut, how terrible' and drive on. But no! It took me less than 5 minutes to gather it up and put in a bin - they were not full. I can't imagine who would leave such a mess, I suspect no one on this site, everyone here loves & respects Tinos too much. But, we are, as I said at the start so lucky to be here, and its only takes a few moments to take a bit of care.....
