Having moved to a small-ish Greek island, in October 2023 after having talked about it for just the 8 years, this is the day to day ramblings & musings of me, lovely husband, HH and 2 splendid cats......

So very very sad to hear about the passing of Steve Wright today. Another DJ who was part pf the sound track to my teens & 20's. First on Radio 1, then 2.
Mr Angry, Sid the Manager, Ask Elvis..... responsible for one of my favorite, daftest jokes....accredited to Sid The Manager.....
Sid: I got home last night and said to my wife, "Whats that awful smell?" and she replied " its the Chicken Soup"
Thank God for that, I said.
I thought you were gong make me eat it.
Silly, stupid, funny, harmless, lovely. He did that on a sunny afternoon in about 1988, I'd snuck off work, for a day delivering motorbikes with an unsuitable love-interest (don't ask!!) and I laughed until I cried. Just a very happy day, with Steve providing a memorable soundtrack.
Off to the great turn table in the sky with you, Steve.

  Very new to all this bloggery lark but going to back track a little and post my recent musings, from the past month..living on a small Greek island, theres not something to say every day! Or not thats worth reading! OK team...new approach this time, I've tried jotting down things as I think of them over the past week, so what's coming up is a proper meze of my thoughts, doings and observations...and it may well make no sense WHATSOEVER! Wednesday was the first day of Greek lessons, good grief...can I lie down in a darkened room????? I am too stupid/old/mutton headed to be doing this! I enjoyed it but I can't retain new information these days! She (nice Greek teacher lady) was thrilled and amazed at my ability to read Greek, and read out what I'm reading...but was clearly amazed also that despite telling me 12 times the words for page and exercise I still couldn't recall either by lessons end.....and nor can I now (although I THINK page may be selida) Nails next....

  Today. In which Deb and Bella Go On An Adventure. An Easter Sunday filled with churches, donkeys and other essential Easter elements. It was one of those days you get in Greece where you hatch a great plan...and the day doesn't turn out anything like the plan at all! So the plan was to scoot down to beach called Isternia about 20 kms from us. The dawn dawned sunny and downright hot - I don't remember March being like this. So off I go....in shorts, as you do. First off, I think I maybe should get petrol, have half a tank and that might be enough but...anyway, its Sunday but I figure I can go past 3 petrol stations, one is bound to be open. Wrong. So I decide to head off anyway and am sure I will pass a petrol station. After a few miles I am slightly losing my nerve and decide no, must have petrol. So I the get thoroughly lost trying to find a place called Steni which I know does have a petrol station and end up using all the petrol I do have to go round this blob of mountai...

  Afternoon All, What shall we ruminate on today?  Nothing much going on here and dangerously, that leaves far too much room in my head for random thoughtidge! Before we start the ramblings, we have been doing a bit more walking this week that of late, photos attached.  Yesterday, a gorgeous blue sky March Monday we got around to going up to the 4 th  highest bit of the island, a hunk of rock called  Exombourgo  where the ruins of the  ancient  acropolis of Tinos is.  Views amazing, loads of wild flowers, vast amount of huffing and puffing on the way up. Summit reached I then remembered, rather oddly as I used to love my skiing so much, that I am not all that great with heights.  So the trip back down was actually worse than the one up...terrible quivering jelly legs, heart racing, taking the tiniest baby steps.  Not helped by HH doing his impersonation of a mountain goat and skittering about, hither & yon...and slipping, yes, a...
